Adult Film Star Stormy Daniels To Publish Book On Trump Affair In October ?

Stormy Daniels said the book, due to hit the shelves on October 2, would fill in

details that were cut from her interview with the CBS show 60 Minutes earlier this year.

Adult film star Stormy Daniels said Wednesday she will publish an autobiography detailing her alleged affair with President Donald Trump in October, shortly before key US midterm elections.
Daniels, who says she had an affair with Trump in 2006, around the time that the reality television star's wife Melania had given birth to their son Barron, said she would dedicate the tell-all -- entitled "Full Disclosure" -- to her young daughter.

"You really didn't think I would hold anything back?" said Daniels on the ABC television show The View.
"I'm gonna write everything and include it and people can think what they want about me but at least it's the truth -- it's not like that they haven't been thinking that about me anyway," she said.
Daniels said the book, due to hit the shelves on October 2, would fill in details that were cut from her interview with the CBS show 60 Minutes earlier this year.
"Everybody knows that a lot of the 60 minutes (interview) was cut down for time," she said. "There are things that I said in my interview that I really wanted people to know, that were very important to me, that I didn't get to say."
She said she had been working on the book for about a decade, and it would recount details of her career in strip clubs and the pornographic movie industry.
She said that even though the book would be dedicated to her daughter, she would have to wait "until she is of a certain age" before allowing the girl to read it.
Trump has publicly denied the affair, although his personal lawyer Michael Cohen has pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations linked to hush money he paid Daniels through a front company.
The book is due out just over a month before the hotly contested midterms, and follows a slew of books that have revealed damning details about alleged chaos and in-fighting inside the Trump administration.

COMMENT

"It's going to be a long three weeks until the book comes out for Donald Trump," said Michael Avenatti, Daniel's lawyer, who appeared on the show with her.

Congress Leaders Ride Bullock-Carts In Chhattisgarh To Protest Fuel Price ?

Leader of Opposition TS Singhdeo, who rode a bicycle to the Assembly complex,

asked why the legislators including the party's state chief Bhupesh Baghel were

stopped by police at the entrance.

Congress legislators reached the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in bullock-carts and bicycles Wednesday to protest rising fuel prices.
Inside the House, Congress MLAs alleged that the BJP government used the administration to stop them from entering the Assembly premises in bullock carts and on bicycles, and demanded a discussion on the issue.
Leader of Opposition TS Singhdeo, who rode a bicycle to the Assembly complex, asked why the legislators including the party's state chief Bhupesh Baghel were stopped by police at the entrance.
Mr Baghel said this was a matter of breach of privilege and the government should give a reply in the House.
Senior Congress MLA Dhanendra Sahu alleged that women legislators were made to stand under the scorching sun for hours.
No law prevents MLAs from coming to the Assembly on a bicycle or in a bullock-cart, Congress MLAs said.
Revenue Minister Prem Prakash Pandey said the administration was compelled to intervene to maintain law and order.
The Assembly session has been specially convened for two days for farmers' issues, but Congress members are interrupting the proceedings, he said, asking if this was not a breach of privilege.
Mr Baghel claimed that the Congress had informed the Assembly secretariat in advance that they will be reaching on bicycles and in bullock-carts.
But the whole district administration was pressed into service for stopping the Congress MLAs, he said, seeking a reply from Home Minister Ramsewak Paikra.
Speaker Gaurishankar Agarwal said he had already informed the Leader of Opposition that entry passes are not issued to bullock-carts.
Due to the ensuing commotion, the Speaker had to suspend the proceedings for ten minutes.

"No Request For Mamata Banerjee's Chicago Visit": Foreign Ministry ?

Spokesperson of the ministry Raveesh Kumar said the government did not

receive any request for clearance for her visit.

The External Affairs Ministry on Wednesday dismissed reports that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was denied permission to visit Chicago to attend the world
 Hindu conference.
Spokesperson of the ministry Raveesh Kumar said the government did not receive any request for clearance for her visit.
"We did not receive any request for clearance regarding the visit of Ms Mamata Banerjee to Chicago for the event. The reports about the denial of permission are, therefore, not true," he said in response to a question on the reports.
The West Bengal chief minister had yesterday said, "I wanted to go to Chicago... I could not go there because of an unholy conspiracy hatched by certain people. This incident has given me a lot of pain."

Cost of Delay In Jammu Kashmir Local Polls 4,500 crore: Officials ?

At a meeting, called by the state's new Governor Satyapal Malik,

the matter was discussed threadbare. But there has been no decision about

 a time frame.

A delay in holding local body elections in Jammu and Kashmir will lead to a loss of almost Rs. 4,500 crore. This is the reason home ministry officials are citing for pushing ahead with the plans to hold urban local body elections in the state. A final decision, however, is pending.
At a meeting, called by the state's new Governor Satyapal Malik, the matter was discussed threadbare. But there has been no decision about a time frame.
Officials say the Centre is under a lot of pressure and is treading very carefully on the issue. "Any negative report about elections would reflect on the Governors' Rule in Jammu and Kashmir. As far as the panchayat polls are concerned, as they are held on non-partisan lines, they are also on schedule," he added.

The local bodies' elections have lost their sheen after the two key parties in the state, the National Conference and Mehbooba Mufti's PDP, pulled out of the elections alleging uncertainty over Centre's stand on Article 35A.
The Article passed through a Presidential order in 1954 has been challenged before the Supreme Court. The top court deferred the hearing to January after the Centre sought to citing holding of panchayat and civic elections in the state.
The whole of Kashmir Valley shares that anxiety. "There are reports that fruit grower organisations, houseboat owners and local traders might also give a boycott call. So effort is being made to dissuade them," a senior officer told NDTV.
The PDP has said holding the elections now will be a "mockery" of the democratic process.
State chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam earlier told reporters that the elections will be held as per schedule. "There will no change in dates... Three weeks from now we will have urban body elections and on the first week of November, we will have panchayat elections,'' he had said.
While the urban polls are scheduled for the first week of October, the panchayat elections are set to take place in December.
The government wants to push ahead with the elections following Prime Minster Narendra Modi's statement on Independence Day. The government, he said, is going to hold local bodies polls in Jammu and Kashmir in view of a large number of requests from the state's village headmen.
The last urban body elections were held in 2005. The National Conference has a strong hold in urban areas, but this time, they have boycotted the elections.
Panchayat elections are another matter, the officials say. "They are contested by locals very fiercely and people do participate in it in huge numbers," an official said.
After last panchayat elections in 2011, as many as two dozen sarpanches were killed. But locals then made it clear that panchayat elections are not related to Kashmir issue, but about everyday issues like bijli, sadak, pani (electricity, roads, drinking water)," adds an officer.

COMMENT

The Centre has already agreed to send 221 companies of troops to the state for the elections.

"1 In A 1.3 Million": 28-Year-Old Immigrant Wins Lottery In Canada, Twice

A young west African immigrant who moved to Canada two years ago has hit the lottery jackpot -- twice.
Melhig Melhig, 28, won two scratch-off games in the space of five months. Total winnings? CAN $3.5 million (US $2.7 million).
"I want to improve my English and communication. And I want to learn something useful, like carpentry," Melhig told the Western Canada Lottery Corporation when asked what he would do with the money.
Melhig, who hails from west Africa but did not specify the country, moved to Winnipeg two years ago.
In April, he bought a ticket and won $1.5 million. Last month, he bought another ticket -- and won another $2 million.
With his first payout, he bought a new home for his wife and children. With the second windfall, he hopes to buy a business -- maybe a car wash or a gas station, he says -- and "go to school."
Melhig had a one in 900,000 chance of winning the first time, according to lottery officials. The second time, his odds were one in 1.3 million.
So what are the chances of someone winning two major jackpots in such a short period of time? Difficult to calculate, the Western Canada Lottery Corporation says.
Lottery officials say everything about his twin wins is legit.

"We didn't find anything out of the ordinary and we are happy for him," lottery spokeswoman Andrea Marantz told AFP.

US Officials Have Reached Out To China For New Trade Talks, Say Sources ?

The timing and location of the proposed meeting were unclear,

the people said. Mid-level U.S. and Chinese officials met on Aug. 22 and 23

with no agreements.

The Trump administration has reached out to China for a new round of trade talks as it prepares to activate punitive U.S. tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods, two people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
Senior U.S. officials led by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin recently sent an invitation to their Chinese counterparts, including Vice Premier Liu He, to hold another bilateral trade meeting.
The timing and location of the proposed meeting were unclear, the people said. Mid-level U.S. and Chinese officials met on Aug. 22 and 23 with no agreements.
A U.S. Treasury spokesman did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The invitation was first reported by the Wall Street Journal. A meeting among cabinet-level officials could ease market worries over the escalating tariff war that threatens to engulf all trade between the world's two largest economies and raise costs for companies and consumers.
So far, the United States and China have hit $50 billion worth of each others' goods with tariffs in a dispute over U.S. demands that China make sweeping economic policy changes, including ending joint venture and technology transfer policies, rolling back industrial subsidy programs and better protecting American intellectual property.
U.S. President Donald Trump last week said that in addition to preparing tariffs on another $200 billion worth of goods, he had tariffs on another $267 billion worth of goods "ready to on short notice if I want."

COMMENT

U.S. business groups are escalating their fight against Trump's tariffs, with over 60 industry groups launching a coalition to put political pressure on the Trump administration to seek alternatives to tariffs.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Says, "I Could Beat Trump," Then Backtracks ?

"I think I could beat Trump," said JPMorgan Chase CEO, Jamie Dimon,

who had led the country's largest bank for more than a decade. "I'm as tough as he is,

 I'm smarter than he is.

JPMorgan Chase CEO, Jamie Dimon predicted Wednesday that he could defeat President Donald Trump in a presidential election.
"I think I could beat Trump," said Dimon, who had led the country's largest bank for more than a decade. "I'm as tough as he is, I'm smarter than he is.
"He could punch me all he wants. It wouldn't work with me. I'd fight right back," Dimon said at an event announcing a new $500 million JPMorgan Chase philanthropic initiative.
But, Dimon said, his wife wouldn't let him run and "I can't beat the liberal side of the Democratic Party."
Shortly after, as the comments circulated on social media, Dimon backtracked.
"I should not have said it. I'm not running for President," he said in a statement. "Proves I wouldn't make a good politician. I get frustrated because I want all sides to come together to help solve big problems."
But earlier, he had fiery words for the current president, a fellow New Yorker who once called him "the worst banker in the United States."

"And by the way this wealthy New Yorker actually earned his money. It wasn't a gift from daddy," Dimon said, pointing to himself and noting that he grew up in the "poorer part of Queens."
Dimon is currently worth more than $1 billion and made $28 million as chief executive of JPMorgan Chase last year. He also holds a substantial amount of JPMorgan stock, which has risen in price by 25 percent over the last year and doubled during the last five years.
Since Trump's election, Dimon has emerged as one of Wall Street's most prominent voices in Washington as chairman of the powerful Business Roundtable. The usually affable Dimon leads the largest bank in the country with more than $2 trillion in assets and what Dimon has described as a "fortress" balance sheet.
He has previously vented his frustration with gridlock in Washington, saying last year: "It's almost embarrassing being an American citizen . . . and listening to the stupid [expletive] we have to deal with in this country."
On Wednesday, Dimon announced that JPMorgan would spent $500 million for a new program to boost growth in several cities, including Detroit, Chicago and Washington. The program, AdvancingCities, is expected to attract $1 billion in outside capital, according to the bank.

COMMENT

"Opportunity is not shared equally across neighborhoods," Dimon said a statement . "Businesses can and must step up to help change the status quo by creating a better future for all, no matter where they live. It is in our best interest and the right thing to do."

"60 Minutes" Producer Out As CBS Cleans Up After Harassment Claims

The exit of Jeff Fager comes three days

after the television giant announced the

 departure of president, chairman and

CEO Leslie Moonves.

The executive producer of "60 Minutes," America's flagship investigative television news program, was out at CBS Wednesday in the wake of accusations of sexual misconduct and allegedly tolerating an abusive culture.
The exit of Jeff Fager comes three days after the television giant announced the departure of president, chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves, whom at least 12 women had accused of sexual misconduct stretching back decades.
"Jeff Fager is leaving the company effective immediately," CBS News president David Rhodes wrote in a note to staff reported by CBS News.
Fager's exit was "not directly related to the allegations surfaced in press reports" but he had "violated company policy," Rhodes added.
CBS News quoted Fager as saying that his contract had been terminated over a "harsh" text message he sent to a CBS reporter demanding that she be "fair" in covering the story.
"One such note should not result in termination after 36 years, but it did," Fager was quoted as saying.
On July 27, The New Yorker broke the first public accusations against Moonves and also reported that 19 current and former employees accused Fager, a former chairman of CBS News, of allowing harassment in the workplace.
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ronan Farrow reported that Fager would allegedly touch staff, making them uncomfortable at parties, and that he once made a drunken pass at a junior staffer. Fager has denied the claims.
Fager previously served as chairman of CBS News and had been executive producer of "60 Minutes" since 2003.
In August, the CBS board of directors hired outside lawyers to investigate the claims against Moonves, as well as "cultural issues at all levels of CBS."
COMMENT
Moonves is one of the biggest scalps of the #MeToo era. CBS announced his departure on Sunday, saying that he and the network would donate $20 million to supporting the #MeToo movement and equality for women in the workplace.
