Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi 6 64GB Storage Variant Available Through Open Sale in India

The Redmi 6 Pro is available on Amazon India, whereas, the Redmi 6 can be bought from Flipkart.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi 6 64GB Storage Variant Available Through Open Sale in India

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro and the Redmi 6 are terrific phones, and that isn’t just the case because they are well priced. The problem with great phones with even better pricing is that there isn’t enough of those to go around. The Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi 6 are two such examples that have been hard to get a hold of. Good news is that Xiaomi’s popular phones are now available through open sale on all online stores.
This include Amazon India and Flipkart, but strangely not the company’s own MI online store. Xiaomi seems to have shared the stocks for the lower-end Redmi 6 with Flipkart, whereas, Amazon India has the slightly more expensive device with better specifications; Redmi 6 Pro on sale. What’s unique about these listings is that both Flipkart and Amazon India have received enough stocks from Xiaomi that this isn’t a flash sale, where stocks run out in a matter of minutes.

Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro: Available Through Flipkart and Amazon

Starting at INR 10,999 for the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage capacity and going up to a maximum of INR 12,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model, the Redmi 6 Pro can now be bought right off Amazon India without having to play fastest-finger-first during the customary flash sales. While Amazon is selling the higher-end Pro variant, Flipkart seems to have received the stocks for the plain vanilla Redmi 6 phone, which is priced at INR 7,999 for the 3GB/32GB version with the 3GB/64GB version being sold at INR 9,499.
Flipkart is selling the Redmi 6 at “no cost EMI” that doesn’t involve interest or processing fees. It also offers exchange schemes with a maximum exchange benefit of INR 7,200. Meanwhile, Amazon offers INR 2,200 instant cashback and up to 4.5TB of 4G Data exclusively for Reliance Jiousers. Both phones are great and play to their strength within their respective price ranges, but it would be wiser to pay INR 500 extra and opt for the 3GB/32GB Redmi 6 Pro, instead of going for the high-end 3GB/64GB variant of the Redmi 6 for INR 9,499.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro: Which Phone is the Right Fit for You
We had earlier reviewed the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro and given it a heart recommendation for a slightly smaller version of the Redmi Note 5. The Redmi 6 Pro has nearly all the features of the Redmi Note 5 with a few exceptions such as 4K recording and, as such, is a great alternative in that price segment. Its premium metal construction, large 4000mAh battery, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC make it a really good deal at the price, especially, considering the quality of the primary camera.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 cuts corners with its SoC and opts for the MediaTek Helio P22 instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 found on the more expensive Pro version. While it retains the metal construction of the Pro variant, it still struggles when it comes to heavy games and apps due to the lower specification of the processor. As mentioned earlier, it therefore makes sense to pay INR 500 extra and opt for the base version of the Redmi 6 Pro over the top-end variant of the Redmi 6. That is unless you are on a budget and can’t spare more than the INR 7,999 price of the base-end Redmi 6. It’s still a great phone for the price.

Realme 2 Pro to go on sale today at 12 noon on Flipkart: Price, specifications, features

The smartphone from the former sub-brand of Oppo is giving other mid-range phones a run for their money.

Realme 2 Pro to go on sale today at 12 noon on Flipkart Price, specifications, features

Realme, formerly a sub-brand from Oppo focused on the online market, has come a long way and made a huge impression in a matter of months. The Realme 2 Pro, which was launched in September this year, is among the most popular devices from the company, thanks to its superior specifications for the price. The phone is going on sale today at 12 noon, and will be available to buy on Flipkart. All variants of the phone will go on sale today.
The Realme 2 Pro is priced from Rs 13,990 onwards for the base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Apart from that, there are also 6GB / 64GB and 8GB / 128GB variants of the smartphone, priced at Rs 15,990 and Rs 17,990, respectively. This makes the Realme 2 Pro the most affordable device currently available in India with 8GB of RAM.

Realme 2 Pro Specifications and Features

The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, which is also usually seen only on upper mid-tier devices. In terms of other specifications and features, you get a 6.3-inch full-HD+ resolution screen with a waterdrop-style notch, a dual-camera setup at the rear, a 16-megapixel front camera and a 3,500mAh battery. You also get dedicated slots for two SIM cards and a microSD card for storage expansion.

In terms of design and most features, the Realme 2 Pro is largely similar to the Oppo F9. However, with a stronger focus on specifications and the economies of online sales, the phone has a significant advantage over other devices that also rely on offline availability. Now might also be the best time to buy a new Realme phone, as prices are set to be hiked soon.

Xiaomi Launches in the UK With Mi 8 Pro, Redmi 6A, and Mi Band 3

Xiaomi Launches in the UK With Mi 8 Pro, Redmi 6A, and Mi Band 3
China's Xiaomi unveiled the Mi 8 Pro smartphone in London Thursday, making a UK debut as the tech giant ramps up its European presence before an expected American launch next month.
Xiaomi, which is looking to gain ground on rivals Apple, Huawei, and Samsung, revealed the flagship product at a launch event at the Barbican Centre.
The Mi 8 Pro will go on sale in Britain on Friday, the group announced, marking the first time that the device has been available outside China.
The phone, which retails from GBP 499.99 ($657, EUR 573), uses Google's Android operating system and has a fingerprint sensor in its 6.2-inch screen. It will be available from various outlets including operator Three Mobile.
Xiaomi also announced it will open an official Mi Store on November 18 at London's Westfield shopping centre in White City, having opened in Paris earlier this year.
'Milestone product'
"Mi 8 Pro is a milestone product and that's why we think it is perfect here today at a global debut here in London," said Donovan Sing, director of product management.
He added: "We are going to be bringing Mi 8 here to the UK market."
The group will also sell other hi-tech gadgets, including a fitness-tracking band and an electric scooter.
The entrepreneur behind Xiaomi, Lei Jun, describes the business he has built as a "new species" of company with a "triathlon" business model combining hardware, internet and e-commerce services.
Products range from home gadgets like smart air purifiers to non-tech items such as pillows and ballpoint pens.
Smartphones have remained at its core since its 2010 founding in Zhongguancun -- China's Silicon Valley - and sales have skyrocketed, making Xiaomi the world's fourth-largest smartphone vendor at the end of last year, according to International Data Corp.
As some European consumers have pulled back from expensive outlays for an iPhone or Samsung, Xiaomi's more affordable product has proved a hit in countries like France, Italy and Spain.
"Europe is our next focus," Lei Jun told investors this summer, noting the company's explosive growth in the region had already made Xiaomi the number four smartphone seller in western Europe.
International sales now bring in more than one-third of the company's revenue.
In India, Xiaomi has cornered roughly 30 percent of the market, although growing pains there show how it can be difficult for Chinese companies to expand abroad.
Its phone chargers initially faced a relatively high defect rate because of India's power supply problems and required a redesign to increase voltage.
Scepticism
Xiaomi should avoid such issues in the United Kingdom, but could encounter scepticism over its Chinese origins and concerns over data security.
Even after its Chinese competitor Huawei built a cyber-security centre for UK officials to review its code, controversy about the company's operations and potential national security threats has continued.
Still, unlike Huawei, Xiaomi was not founded by a veteran of China's armed forces and sells handsets instead of telecom infrastructure so there may be less cause for concern.

Congress Fields Arun Yadav To Take On Shivraj Chouhan In Madhya Pradesh

With an apparent objective to tie down Shivraj Singh Chouhan in his bastion Budhni,

the opposition party picked up former Union Minister and former state

Congress chief Arun Yadav as his opponent.

Congress Fields Arun Yadav To Take On Shivraj Chouhan In Madhya Pradesh

The Congress on Thursday night released its sixth and final list for the November 28 Assembly polls in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, nominating its OBC face Arun Yadav against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Budhni seat in Sehore district.

The BJP also announced its fourth and final list of seven candidates for the polls.
The Congress left one seat, Jatara, for its ally Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD).
With an apparent objective to tie down Shivraj Singh Chouhan in his bastion Budhni, the opposition party picked up former Union Minister and former state Congress chief Yadav as his opponent.
The Yadav community accounts for a large number of votes, nearly twice that of Kirars, an OBC community to which Mr Chouhan belongs, a source in Sehore district said.
Mr Chouhan has been elected from Budhni thrice in a row.
Arun Yadav will file his nomination papers on Friday, party sources said.
The Congress left a seat in Jatara, reserved for SC candidate, for LJD in the party's final list. The LJD might field Vikram Choudhary from Jatara, sources said.
"With the final list out, we have declared candidates for 229 out of 230 seats," MP Congress spokesman Pankaj Chaturvedi said.
Budhni, over 60 km from Bhopal, is Shivraj Chouhan's home turf from where he was first elected as MLA in 1990. This would be the fifth time he will be contesting from the seat, which is close to his ancestral village of Jait in Sehore.
In 2013, Shivraj Singh Chouhan had defeated Congress's Mahendra Singh Chauhan by 84,000 votes from Budhni.
Besides Arun Yadav, the Congress, in the final list, announced candidates for Indore-1 (Sanjay Shukla in place of earlier announced Preeti Agnihotri), Indore-2 (Mohan Singh Sengar), Indore-5 (Satyanarayan Patel), Manpur-ST (Gyanwati Singh) and Ratlam Rural-ST (Thavar Lal Bhuria).

The BJP, in a surprise move in its final list, nominated a woman candidate, Fatima Rasul Siddaki, against Congress's sitting MLA Arif Aqueel from Bhopal North.
Other seats for which it announced candidates were: Pawai (Prahlad Lodhi), Panna (Brijendra Singh), Lakhnadoun-ST (Vijay Uike), Seoni-Malwa (Prem Shankar Verma in place of former minister Sartaj Singh, who quit BJP at the last moment to join Congress in protest), Mahidpur (Bahadur Singh Chauhan) and Garoth (Devilal Dhakar).
With this, BJP has announced its candidates for all 230 seats in the state, party spokesperson Sarvesh Tiwari said.

'Achhe Din Won't Come', Says PM Modi's Lookalike After Switching Over to Congress

A new entrant to the grand old party, Pathak was with the BJP-led NDA constituent Republican Party of India (Athawale) as its state vice-president for Uttar Pradesh till he joined the Congress last month.

'Achhe Din Won't Come', Says PM Modi's Lookalike After Switching Over to Congress

He looks like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, dresses and speaks like him and begins his speech with 'Mitron', but their similarities end there - He is Abhinandan Pathak, a Congress campaigner in the Naxal-affected Bastar region of Chhattisgarh who says "achhe din nahin ayenge".

A new entrant to the grand old party, Pathak was with the BJP-led NDA constituent Republican Party of India (Athawale) as its state vice-president for Uttar Pradesh till he joined the Congress last month in the presence of actor-turned-politician Raj Babbar.
Congress shouldn't ignore Omar Abdullah’s criticism of Rahul Gandhi's strategy to take on Narendra Modi in 2019 Lok Sabha election

"Since I look like Modiji, people will always ask me where are the 'acche din' (good days), as promised by Modiji ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Hurt by seeing problems of the common man, I left the BJP's ally to join Congress last month," Pathak told PTI.

Pathak, who has been campaigning for the Congress in various seats of the region, including Jagdalpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon and Bastar, is drawing attention in a big way from the locals who jostle to click selfies with him.

Rajasthan Assembly election: Opinion poll predicts rout for BJP, majority for Congress under Sachin Pilot
On his campaign trail, Pathak always targets the prime minister, while mimicking his style, over his promises of 'good days' and depositing Rs 15 lakh in bank accounts of every Indian after retrieving black money stashed abroad.

"Mitron (friends), I came here to tell you the truth that 'achche din' (good days) are not going to come. It was a false promise and please vote for the Congress which can ensure your development," he said, while addressing a small gathering in a local market here.

Pathak claims he is campaigning against the BJP and Modi for the first time since 2014 and till now he used to campaign only for the saffron party and its allies.

During the last Lok Sabha polls, there were several lookalikes of Modi, including Pathak, who were seen in different places across the country during election campaigns.

However, sitting Congress MLA Devti Karma, who is again contesting the election on the party ticket, said she is not even aware about any Modi lookalike campaigning for her.

Devti, who is the wife of Salwa Judum founder late Mahendra Karma, said she is seeking votes in the name of her late husband.
Karma is said to have mobilised the controversial movement against Naxals in Chhattisgarh and he was killed by the left-wing extremists in 2013, days ahead of the state assembly elections that year.

Local Congress leaders, who are accompanying Pathak, however, said his unique way of campaigning is helping them in reaching out to BJP voters.
The BJP candidate, Bhima Mandavi, however, said that the Congress
resorting to using a Modi lookalike for the campaign proves the prime minister's popularity only."People here are very wise. They can differentiate between the original and the fake. There is only one Modi, there cannot be another," Mandavi said.

Incidentally, Pathak has been campaigning in the region at a time Modi himself is scheduled to address a rally in Jagdalpur on Friday.

The voting for the 12 assembly seats of the Bastar region will be held on November 12.

Intel may showcase 4G, 5G capable device for 3.5Ghz frequency range

Intel may showcase 4G, 5G capable device for 3.5Ghz frequency range

The US-based processor giant Intel Corporation is planning to unveil dual capability fourth-generation (4G) and fifth-generation (5G) technology based System-on-Chip (SoC) for the device ecosystem in the 3300-3600 Mhz frequency band in India, according to a highly-placed industry source.

In August this year, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has suggested a mega airwaves sale across eight bands including frequencies in the 3300-3600 Mhz band, used for fifth-generation or 5G services which the Narendra Modi-led government is eyeing in tandem with matured markets worldwide.

“After Qualcomm, Intel will also be showcasing devices on the 3.5Ghz spectrum band soon to propel device ecosystem,” a person familiar with the matter said, adding that both 4G and 5G services could be simultaneously launched on the newer radio waves.

Rival Qualcomm has recently demonstrated a prototype of a 4G-and-5G capable smartphone that can work on the airwaves in the 3300-3600 MHz range with embedded SIM capability.

Steven Mollenkopf-headed company has also entered into strategic alliance with as many as 19 device vendors worldwide for 4G-and-5G-capable smartphone production.

“Currently we have no further information to share related to the rollout of 5G in specific countries,” Intel in a statement to ETTelecom said.

The Silicon Valley company has already said that it had made substantial advances in its wireless product roadmap to fast-track 5G adoption with the 5G new radio (5G NR) multi-mode commercial modems and new LTE modem.

However, the Santa Clara-based processor and chip major is also working closely with iPhone maker Apple Inc., as the latter plans to use Intel's 8161 5G modem chip for smartphones poised to hit stores in 2020.

Currently, Intel is supplying LTE modems to Apple to support core iPhone product lineup, following which the company’s modem business witnessed a considerable surge.
