Xiaomi will be hosting a launch event in China today i.e. November 6 and is expected to launch the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro with features such as quad cameras (dual cameras on both sides), Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, a

bigger display with notch and more. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is highly likely to be launched by the Chinese smartphone maker tomorrow i.e. November 6 and while the smartphone has already been listed on the company’s global website, it was reportedly launched in Thailand, as well. For the unknown, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is the awaited successor of the Redmi Note 6 Pro, which has seen a success in India by selling millions of units.

Coming to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro expected price, the smartphone was launched at 6,990 Baht or approximately Rs. 15,600 in Thailand and it is expected to launch with similar pricing in other markets as well, including India. Here we take a look at some features of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro which could make it a worthy successor of the popular Redmi Note 5 Pro in India and other global markets.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: 5 features which makes it a worthy successor of the popular Redmi Note 5 Pro

Bigger display with notch
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will be launched with a 6.26-inch FHD+ (2280x1080) display with a notch and 19:9 aspect ratio instead of the 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. This will give users more real estate on the screen panel as well as a more immersive experience.
Quad cameras
For the first time, Xiaomi is going with quad cameras in its Redmi series as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.4μm pixel size, Dual PD focus, dual-tone LED Flash and a secondary 5-megapixel sensor with AI dynamic bokeh mode. At the front, there is a 20-megapixel camera with Sony IMX376 sensor and secondary 2-megapixel camera with AI portrait selfie mode.
4000mAh battery
One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi Note 5 Pro was its long-lasting 4000mAh battery and the same cell has been carried forward for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro with better fast charging capabilities.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC
This is also the same processor which powered the Redmi Note 5 Pro and while we would have liked a better processor for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, it is still one of the most popular and performance oriented chipsets in the segment.
AI-powered features
With the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, the Chinese smartphone maker is playing heavy on artificial intelligence (AI) as the smartphone comes with AI face unlock, AI dynamic bokeh mode, AI portrait selfie mode, and more.

Apple AirPods Upgrade to Have Health-Focused Features and Closer Apple Watch Relationship, Trademark Filings Tip

Apple is apparently taking vital steps towards the next-generation AirPods,
as suggested by fresh trademark filings in Europe and Hong Kong.

There are new international classes to reveal that the new AirPods will move
beyond music streaming and offer health-focused features. There could also
be better some experiences specifically for Apple Watch users over what's
available in the current market. Previously, it was reported that Apple is exploring technologies such as wireless charging to deliver a premium experience. A patent application also
surfaced earlier this year that suggested the ability to use the AirPods case as a wireless charger.

New iPad Pro obliterates competition on Geekbench

As per the fresh trademark filings in Europe and Hong Kong, courtesy Patently Apple,
Apple has included new international classes to explore new use cases of its
next-generation AirPods. The latest filings include a class 10 that defines health
and fitness-related focus of the new AirPods. It shows that there may be "wellness
sensors" to enable the transmission of "biometric data, heart rate, body movement,
and calories burnt". This sounds similar to how Apple currently taps fitness enthusiasts
through the Apple Watch.
Back in June, a Bloomberg report citing people familiar with the development claimed
that Apple is planning to bring biometric sensors to future AirPods to enable features
such as heart-rate monitoring. The company reportedly aimed to expand its health-related
 developments beyond Apple Watch.
Aside from bringing health-focused features, Apple is apparently in aiming to build a close
relationship between AirPods and Apple Watch. The new filings include class 14 to
suggest the new development. The new AirPods could also have some special features
to work as the perfect audio solution for mobile games. Furthermore, the fresh patent
application in Europe apparently carries November 2 as the filing date. This suggests that
the new AirPods could soon come into reality.
If we believe what analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently predicted, the new AirPods will debut in
the either in the late fourth quarter of this year or in the early first quarter of next year.
The new model could come alongside the launch of the AirPower wireless charging mat
that is expected to offer wireless charging to not just new AirPods but also the recent
iPhone models and Apple Watch. A recent patent filing also suggested that there
could be an all-new AirPods case that will work as a wireless speaker.
Apple could formally reveal details around its new AirPods sometime in the coming future.
Meanwhile, we can speculate some leaks and rumours around the ongoing development
to give a clearer picture of what's cooking up behind the scenes.

OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple variant launched in China; prices start at RMB 3,399

There is no information on if or when OnePlus will launch this new color variant in markets outside China.

OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple variant launched in China; prices start at RMB 3,399

OnePlus has officially announced the launch of the Thunder Purple color variant for the OnePlus 6T in China. This announcement comes weeks after the official launch of OnePlus 6T, and it looks like this color variant is only available in the Chinese market at the time of writing. This new variant has been priced starting at RMB 3,399 for the variant with 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage.
Other two variants with 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and the 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage have been priced at RMB 3,599, and RMB 3,999 respectively. There are no changes in the hardware specifications of this device except the different color.
To quickly recap, the highlights of the new OnePlut 6T include the waterdrop-like notch, under display fingerprint scanner, and the absence of the 3.5mm audio socket from the bottom of the device. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
The only other change that is present in the device is on the operating system end of things. The OnePlus devices sold in China don’t run the Android-powered Oxygen OS operating system, and instead run Android-powered Hydrogen OS. The difference between the two versions is that Hydrogen OS does not come with integrated Google services because these services are not available in China.
There is no information on whether OnePlus will launch this new color variant in markets outside China. This means that if you want your hands on this color variant then you will have to source it from China. It is possible that OnePlus may launch the color variant in other markets sooner than later.

New Apple iPad Pro review roundup: not quite ready to replace laptops

The early reviews of the Apple iPad Pro 11 and iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) are out, but they are a little reluctant to render a final verdict. The tablets (the big one especially with 1TB of storage) can cost a ton of money and they feature several fundamental changes, so more time is needed for definitive conclusions.
Here are some of the early impressions that agree on some points, though not all. The new Pencil and keyboard, the USB-C port and the new chipset are almost universally praised, but Apple’s new tablet still falls short of perfection in some cases.
Engadget points out that USB-C can be a game changer – the accessories you use on your Mac (e.g. a USB microphone can be used in Garageband) now work on the tablet with no adapters. Speaking of accessories, Engadget’s review was written on the Smart Keyboard Folio.

The Verge is similarly excited by USB-C, but highlights a flaw – iOS doesn’t support USB storage out of the box. Also, the port can only do one thing at a time, so you need Bluetooth headphones if using the speakers isn’t an option. The magnetic charging system of the new Pencil is great, the double tap gesture less so. Apparently artists are more used to having a button on the side.
TechCrunch disagrees and says that the double tap gesture feels natural. The keyboard proved stable and was “approved for lap use”, which is something to consider when looking at the new MacBook Air. The Pencil and keyboard were rated so highly, that TechCrunch believes your’e not getting the full iPad Pro experience without them.

LaptopMag wasn’t impressed with the 64GB base storage, the lack of a touchpad also impacts the Pro’s ability to replace a laptop. That said, that the A12X Bionic chipset is so powerful that it outperformed Core i7-based laptops in some tasks (while being thinner and lighter and offering great battery life to boot).
Wired sees the new iPad Pros as a possible but limited replacement for laptops. Multitasking, even on the larger screen, still isn’t up to par. Wired found the keyboard to be wobbly, counter to other reviewer’s impressions.
CNET also sees the accessories as necessary, but bemoans how quickly the costs add up. Software limitations and having a single port make the price harder to swallow. Face ID performance was described as “scary fast”.
Pocket-Lint found that iOS 12.1 is holding the new iPad Pros back from being proper MacBook replacements. User experience can vary quite a bit – e.g. connecting an external hard drive is possible, but unless you have the right app, you can even access the file directory. Multitasking is not on Mac OS X level yet, despite support for external 5K monitors.
Mashable is impressed by Face ID’s ability to work in any orientation (and questions why the new iPhone’s can’t do that as well), but notes a potential issue – depending on how you hold the tablet, you can cover up the TrueDepth camera with your hand.
