During a campaign organized in Jamia Milia Islamia on International Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, the world renowned specialist of this topic and Head of Department of Urology and Renal Trapplant in Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, Prof. Dr. Anoop Kumar cautioned that India is second number in case of the number of patients in the world, but timely treatment and balanced eating habits are easy to control. He said that there is no need to be afraid of prostate cancer because 90 percent of its patients can be cured without surgery.
Dr. Anoop said, it is a myth that prostate cancer is a disease of the western countries and it is not generally in India. Indeed, after western countries, the number of such patients is highest in our country's men. He said that by changing lifestyle and eating habits, this disease can easily be avoided. At the same time, he advised that after the age of 50, "PSA" should be done once in a test year. It can be easily rested on time with this disease. He said that in the families whose cases of prostate cancer has been found, the chances of this disease increase by nine percent of their families.
Members of such families should take more precautions. To avoid this disease, they advised to discipline lifestyle, cigarettes, avoiding alcohol, eating non-veg less, drinking excess water, canned mines and more than two or three foods in the fridge. A large number of JMI students and teachers came to hear their lecture. Dr. Ershad Naqvi, CMO, Dr. Ansari Health Center, Jamia, appreciated the efforts of Dr Anoop in presenting the common causes of this disease and preserving and treating it.
